If it was working before, and now it isn't, it is most likely a matter of selecting the correct port setting. When you upgrade the software, the existing driver is not affected, and remains installed in the vinyl spooler without any changes.

Another thing to check on the Roland is the emulation is set to HPGL - mode 2.

Also if it is a recent model Roland, on a USB cable, select "DirectUSB" port method and you should see it in the list of ports.
