phil lancaster 0 Posted July 18, 2018 Hi I have a creation ct 630 and sometimes it cuts a dotted line instead of a solid line I am using signlab 10 thanks phil
Dakotagrafx 7,297 Posted July 18, 2018 most of the time we have found that a combination of too much blade exposure, bits of vinyl stuck in the blade holder and the need for a drop of oil in the blade holder is the cure for that symptom
phil lancaster 0 Posted July 18, 2018 will have a look and try it thanks

Dakotagrafx 7,297 Posted July 19, 2018 last 3 questions 1 how are you setting your blade depth? 2 did you try a new blade to make sure you don't have a broken tip 3. is there a groove in your cut strip?
signyouup 178 Posted July 19, 2018 Does it tend to do it in a certain direction?
slice&dice 2,450 Posted July 20, 2018 My 2-cents. There is a tension adjustment screw you can manually access (behind the side cover which can be easily removed) and the cutter head drive belt may require some slight increase in tightness.

Many times people see wrong blade depth instructions and the blade will start skipping across the vinyl. Other instructions were given above. Like checking the tension on the cutter. To start with, you should set your blade depth correctly, by taking the blade holder out of the machine, and firmly cut across a piece of scrap vinyl, you will be cutting. You should only be cutting the vinyl and barely a mark on wax paper backing, Adjust blade to get there, Then put the blade holder back in machine, and use the force of the machine to get there, same results, only cutting the vinyl and barely a mark in wax paper backing. You should barely see and feel the blade tip out of the blade holder. Regular sign vinyl is only 2-3 mil thick. You only cut with the very tip of the blade. When you think the blade is so far in the blade holder, that you think it would not even cut, that is probably correct.

I have adjusted blade depth, force, new blade, adjusting the knobs on the back of the feed part. I have tried rotating graphics at an angle to see if that would help. I have adjusted the depth and force to so many times to fix the issue with no luck.
MZ SKEETER 4,708 Posted March 31, 2022 What does the teflon cutting strip look like? Any scratches and gouges? replace if needed. How old is your vinyl? You should not be adjusting the tension on the pinch rollers. That will just create more problems. Your vinyl will slip. How did you set your blade depth? If blade depth is correct, you do not have to keep adjusting it. You use the force of the machine.
