Scratchthejeepguy 77 Posted May 25, 2018 I know that when doing a wet application, you need to give it time to let the moisture escape and for the adhesive to bond. But does the same go for a dry installation? Does the vinyl achieve full adhesion after a certain amount of time? I'm specifically asking about Oracal 651, but would like to know about most common vinyls as well.
darcshadow 1,625 Posted May 25, 2018 Don't know about an actual cure time, would stand to reason though, the "glue" will dry eventually. I do know it's much easier to remove fresh vinyl than old.
bigmax 166 Posted May 26, 2018 Sign vinyls (if not mistaken) are pressure sensitive. The more you squeegee with pressure, the more it adheres to the substrate or surface you are applying to.
Wildgoose 4,200 Posted May 27, 2018 I think it cures or gets a better grip over time. Like 2 or 3 months or so. The term cure is probably inaccurate but I use it when I talk with clients about new installs.
