kainth.c.s 53 Posted May 10, 2018 Hi everyone Is cutting polyester vinyl a bit harder on cutter than normal calendared or cast vinyl? Any inputs please as I have to cut a decal in chrome polyester vinyl and it called for the higher downforce (press) and lower feed. Also, its weeding was a bit hard as compared to the same for calendared vinyl. Is it just normal?
darcshadow 1,626 Posted May 10, 2018 Any of the metallic vinyls are going to be harder on the blade meaning you'll just have to replace it more often.
MZ SKEETER 4,709 Posted May 10, 2018 Yes, it is harder, I cut Avery Chrome, I have to up the force to be able to cut it clean on my Graphtec, which has plenty of force.. And yes, it will make the blades dull faster. If it doesn't cut clean, the chrome will tear as you try to weed it. Start with a new blade.
