Cutting trajectory lines

I have a laserpoint 2 cutter (50") and it is cutting lines across my designs. I noticed during the cut preview that it shows the trajectory lines, so I think that's what it is cutting but I don't know how to correct it. I am using a serial connection as I thought it may have been the usb connection that was the issue. I do not think it's the cutter because with SCAL, I don't have the same problem. I am attaching pictures.

 

*I have submitted a ticket but posting here in case someone else has experience this and can help.
