cub man 0 Posted March 30, 2017 I have the 34inch MH Series I'm new to all this I have a school logo that is 3 colors. I traced the file into the software and all looks great I was impressed at how well it came out. I put a set of registration marks on top to use to align the three colors up. I have tried 3 times now and get the registration marks on the money but the graphics do not line up. What am i doing wrong.
skarekrow 1,842 Posted March 30, 2017 First, posting an image and/or your vector file would be helpful to pinpoint issues. Second, the "MH" is not known for its initial or repeatable accuracy, that alone could be the entire problem throwing off your registration marks. Additionally, you mentioned, " I put a set of registration marks on top..." 3 point (triangular) registration is far more accurate than 2 point... if that's what you meant. Finally, the 'Light Table' method of registration is often more reliable than using Cross-marks (without back-lighting) alone, of coarse, depending upon size of the graphic and whether the lay-up is done in the shop or on site.

skarekrow 1,842 Posted March 31, 2017 If I were creating that 4 color image in vinyl I would definitely eyeball a Stacked alignment on the light table for 'Perfect' lay-up... might wanna stack it largest color areas to smallest, too. (Though I think that White will hold it's cool color-temp better over the Blue than the Red.)

mark-s 1,126 Posted March 31, 2017 This is how I was taught how to do it. Cut three separate layers include registration marks. Lay the first one down with registration marks On the next 2 cut out the registration marks with an xacto knife through the transfer tape Line them up and perfect every time. mark-s
