Daveischosen 1 Posted January 20, 2017 has anyone cut onto contact paper? i use it for making stencils, and I was wondering if anyone has used their 871 to cut on contact paper, and if so what pressure settings. Trying to avoid using a backing.
mb20music 760 Posted January 20, 2017 It is thinner than sign vinyl so you really just want to have slightly less blade sticking out of the blade holder. Also might want to slow down your cutting speed. Will take a little trial and error to get it right though. I have done it before, but with a different cutter.
Daveischosen 1 Posted January 20, 2017 So it is possible then, thank you so much, I don't mind the trial and error process as long as I know it is.
darcshadow 1,625 Posted January 20, 2017 Depending on what you're using the stencils for, you might look at wall vinyl. It's easy to remove from most surfaces and so long as the surface is flat works well as a stencil. I've been using it lately for powder coating.
