What is the largest roll I can feed through my MH-871 MK2?

Recommended Posts

I purchased a 24" x 50' roll and tried to cut with my MH-871 MK2 cutter.  The roll is too heavy, so I have to unroll it before cutting so the rollers will pull it through.

I would like to know the vinyl roll size limit so I can purchase accordingly.

Thank you!

With any cutter always pre unroll the a,mount needed and do not make the cutter pull the vinyl off of the roll as it will cause cutting issues.  Even my graphtec I always pre. Unroll

True enough, what dakota says!

I can only imagine the "Oh NOOO!" reaction you had when the cutter made such a nasty terrible LOUD noise when it tried to pull that vinyl (Screeeeeech!!!) ---   Every so often I have it happen when I don't unroll enough for a longer cut -- and of course, the cut is ruined!

One thing you might want to consider is creating/adding/fabricating a "Media Catch Basket" that keeps long sections of vinyl from hitting the floor.

Those should give you an idea of how to do it.

you mean 50 yd roll, not 50' ??

i always buy the 24" x 30' (10yd) rolls and never had a problem, but have recently started unrolling them as i all of a sudden started developing a static problem.
