Creation Pcut 630 Z axis home position?

Recommended Posts

Help required.

The z axis on the cutter does not go up/down during a cutter programme. With no power to the machine the solenoid holds the cutter in the up position, when the power is turned on the cutter blade drops down, and when i run a programme it does not go up/down. Everything else appears to work fine.

my bet is on the mainboard then - I don't believe the z chip was replaceable on the p-cut.

There is a Z-axis controller chip which is susceptible to being toasted with excess static electricity charge.

I had the MH unit which actually puts the z-chip mounted within a receptacle on the motherboard. Changing out a blown zchip is a breeze (pop the fried one, insert the $5 new one).

On the machine you have, the zchip is probably soldered in place and requires some electronics skills to swap it out.
