joker 618 Posted August 21, 2016 Does anyone use any type of heat tape to help hold their image in place when doing ball caps. Ive looked on the us cutter site and it says for sublimation. Is there any other kind? Seems like the backing does not stick well enough for hats.. Thanks for any advice
OWJones 1,981 Posted August 22, 2016 The heat tape used for Sublimation is Kapton (sp?) that is also used by a lot of 3D printing enthusiasts. It isn't super-duper sticky, but it holds well enough. I can't see any reason why you couldn't use it for doing hats, but it is kind of pricey...
Go-C Graphics 856 Posted August 22, 2016 You can still use it. It's how I get my heat transfer to stay put. https://www.amazon.com/Temperature-Kapton-Residue-Sublimation-Transfe/dp/B009F1HA4O/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1471838587&sr=8-6&keywords=heat+tape
Wildgoose 4,200 Posted August 22, 2016 This stuff? http://www.uscutter.com/Green-Heat-Resistant-Tape-for-Heat-Transfer-3-8-width Yes I use it for caps. It's not as sticky as you expect but it holds good enough and I can usually do 15-20 press cycles with each piece before it gets wore out. I have another roll I picked up somewhere that is clear and is 1/2" wide that I also use but they stick about the same.
