Copyright Interpretation?

Recommended Posts

In my quest to always do the right thing, I have a question. First, the situation. I purchased a SignWarehouse branded graphtec (yea yea I understand this isn't their forum, but that's another topic). With my purchase was quite a few clipart CDs for "cutting". Upon further investigation, looking at the CDs some of them have this copyright disclaimer (image attached).

I understand we don't print, but what does this mean? Why provide this disc with vectors to cut from if you can't sell the cut designs? Am I reading this wrong? Can you even legally advertise these designs to cut with a copyright such as this?

Thanks for any input :)

What they mean is:

Do not resell their artwork as your own. It is OK to use their artwork to create things, it is not OK to give away or resell their intellectual property.

I think what they are trying to say is that you cannot resell the clipart. The wording is a little vauge. You should be fine making and selling decals. If not, i don't see why SW would bundle the clipart with a cutter.
