Weekend De-Chrome Project (PIC HEAVY)

Recommended Posts

De-chromed a 2500 Duramax for a buddy of mine this weekend. Spent about 15 hours on this...most of it being de/re-assembly. Used Avery SW900 Glossy White and added my "signature" to the grill. Needless to say everyone was happy in the end. Now off to the next project...

Looks great Moody! How did you achieve the raised sig?

Its embossed. I took some really thick vinyl...actually used a scrap piece of RealTree wrap vinyl...and laid that prior to the white vinyl.

looks great - after having color matched bumpers etc on the 03 was kind liking chrome again - but that is why  vehicles are great we all customize however we like em!

That's awesome! Can I ask what something like this you would charge?

Thanks! The material itself is was not more than about $200...so it all comes down to labor cost. If this was not a good friend I would of charged upward of $500-$600 with the amount of work involved...sometimes more depending on the vehicle and material. Most of the time I give the customer the option to disassemble the vehicle themselves and that saves us about 2-3 hours of work and we can afford to knock off about $100-$200 off the total cost.
