You can open a picture of your glass in almost any format....Then place the artwork over top of it....use a translucent background png for the top image.....That's how I do it anyway in this software....I did that in this photo for a customer

Be careful when you do this as you can inadvertently give away your artwork so they can just have someone else cut it out... the best solution is to select the artwork and click the File (menu) > Export and select Jpg and set it to low quality i.e. 50% - save this to a known location from where you can attach it to an email... You cannot cutout a Jpg and it will be too low quality to trace. But your customer will be able to see your design well enough to approve it.

For glassware I usually cut out the design in a silver vinyl and send them a pic of the actual design on the selected glass.

I used to use whatever color I was cutting, but had too many customers want the final etching to be red, or blue, or whatever color I was using.
