DNA_Vinyl 262 Posted January 26, 2016 HI!!! It's me AAAagain... Do they make a vinyl that allows light to pass through it that ISN'T translucent? Would normal 651 be alright? It's for an arcade marquee.
FrznFire07 217 Posted January 26, 2016 oracal makes a transparent we use for several applications. I guess it really depends on the look your trying to acheive. 651 does allow some light to pass thru, in face most vinyl does unless its a blockout film (pigmented back)
mb20music 760 Posted January 26, 2016 Light colored (red, orange, yellow, white, etc,) regular sign vinyl such as Oracal 651 and 751 will allow light to pass thru, hold some up to a light source and you will see for yourself.
darcshadow 1,626 Posted January 28, 2016 I just received a sample chart from Oracal and they have two types of vinyl that let light through, Transparent (8300), and translucent (8500). Transparent is the kind you can kind of see through and looks a little like stained glass. Translucent looks like normal vinyl and is designed to be back light. I think the 8500 would work for what you're wanting to do.
