Glass etching

Recommended Posts

Just depends on your desired result....That Glass was at about 60 PSI and just a couple inches away but done very quickly....Im playing around now with various pressures and distance to achieve different effects....Doesn't take much to change the look...

Also, FYI, glass bead media is more targeted at stripping paint or cleaning up rust. Trying to use glass to etch glass is not an efficient method. For etching you want a media that is harder than the item being etched.

Another FYI

Glass beads are also very dangerous to use without the proper respiration equipment.  The dust produced will kill you.

Thanks again for the help. I purchased 150 grit White Aluminum Oxide on Ebay from Abrasive Armory this morning. Appreciate all the help.

Anyone know what is used to achieve this faux etch look?

looks like a paint we used to use on aquariums in the 70's  - I would just do it in an etched vinyl like sold here
