Zephyr defense 0 Posted November 13, 2015 Hi, I am a certified Cerakote applicator here in northern Nevada. My question is what vinyl would work best for using as stencil for camo jobs? What I am looking for is something that can handle heat for a little while and not leave the adhesive behind. When I am applying Cerakote, in a camo pattern, I shoot a base layer on the piece, then place the work in my curing oven until the solvents flash off making the Cerakote tack free. After that I lay the stencils and then spray the outer layer. For camo patterns like digital there could be as many as 4 different layers that will have to survive a 250 degree flash period in the oven. Thanks, Dan Lindholm ZephyrDefense.com
knucklehead 530 Posted November 14, 2015 I've had 3M paint mask pretty warm, maybe around 160-180, did OK. I don't know about 250. There's one way to find out.
