jskwarek 13 Posted November 13, 2015 Good morning all, I am going to be cutting my first multiple color job over the weekend and am still figuring out the tips and tricks to this process. Would you mind taking a look at the file attached and let me know your thoughts on how I have everything setup? I have grouped everything by color. I'm assuming if I go to layers and turn off all layers, then turn on one color and the registration marks that I will only cut the visible layers? Is that correct? TIA, Jason EDIT... For some reason it won't let me upload an .SCUT3 file. Here is the link from my DropBox. https://www.dropbox.com/s/set3hbeigd0j0kp/JC%20Customs.scut3.scut4?dl=
Wildgoose 4,200 Posted November 13, 2015 It's been a few years since I used SCALP but you don't have to do any special grouping beforehand. There are little tabs at the side in the cut by color area that let you de-select the color you don't want to cut. The preview should show you what is currently going to cut and they will go away as you shut the ones you don't want off.
jskwarek 13 Posted November 14, 2015 OK, I'm lost. I've created a file that has four layers. Layer 1 - Registration Marks Layer 2 - White graphic cut Layer 3 - Blue graphic cut Layer 4 - Red graphic cut I can see the whole image just fine. I pull up the Cut Settings and in the preview window, all I see it the first layer (Registration Marks). When I open the cut by color option, all I see is two layers. I don't see anything else. What am I missing? jason
Wildgoose 4,200 Posted November 15, 2015 Here is a test file with 4 colors in three different formats. See if you can open it and then you will be able to dissect it and figure it out. Color cut test.svg Color cut test.eps Color cut test.ai
