Graphtec fc4100-130 cutting project from vinyl spool

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm new to vinyl cutting and and this machine. I've worked through the manual three times now, but I don't see how to tell the cutter to cut the project from the material spool. I'm not sure if that makes sense, but I was able to successfully cut my project, however now I need to detach it from the spool of vinyl. I assume there is a way to tell the vinyl cutter to just cut the material off?

Thanks so much in advance!

JC

Hi there, the older models such as the FC4100 do not have the material cut off feature, known as "cross cutting".

Cross Cutting feature is only available in FC7000, FC7000 MK2, FC8000 and FC8600 models.

The Sign Warehouse Q-series which are re branded Graphtecs also have Cross Cut.

So you will just need to cut it off with scissors or a razor blade, etc.

what mb said - no cut off and even now it is only available on the fc series new machines.  with that said I had a fc4100-75 and for accuracy it cut as good on small stuff as any machine I have ever owned.  you might strain yourself getting it into the house but they are a rock solid performer

If there is any kind of groove on the machine to guide a straight line you can probably use something like this simple letter opener. Seems almost too simple but they work great. Summa cutters come with a factory made one very similar so there's no shame in using one. LOL!

Thanks for the quick response! I appreciate learning what the term is (cross cut) and now I can put this quest to rest! You both rock!

Thanks Again!

There is a groove in the 4100 i've been using the run a razor blade for right now, but I think it might be big enough for that tool! Awesome recommendation!
