What Maintenance to do CE5000

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I would like to know what type of maintenance do I need to do with my graphtec. I want to open my graphtec for cleaning and lubing.

But I don't know how to do.

I already change the holder and the cutter

My graphtec is about 6 years old

Thanks

should be nothing other than blades - maybe a holder like you did after a lot of years and a cutting strip (those are entertaining to do)

Disclaimer: Try this at your own risk. You may void your warranty.

I don't open my cutter but I do lube the rail on occasion. When I first got my ce6000 it had a small amount of grease on the rail. After some research I found they use a silicone grease. I gently wipe off the old grease with a dry disposal towel and add just a small amount of the grease and spread it along the rail.

The old grease is full of dust and is abrasive. I'll try to update with the brand I use. It's made for divers but I can't remember the name.

99 percent of your problems are probably in that destroyed cut strip - replace that first.   ohhh and 85 percent of those are a real bugger to get the butyl adhesive off when it stays on the machine - 15 percent have had it come off with the cut strip and I cuss at them every time I have done one.

not really sure what you have in those knurled rollers - never seen that one before but that is bad too

After you get the strip off use a little goo gone or acetone to remove the adhesive and then wipe down with rubbing alcohol and install new strip. Also get a small brass or small wire brush for the grit rollers

I was terrified of the strip on my fc after hearing how bad they were to get of the ce series. FC was a piece of cake
