marduk 0 Posted October 5, 2015 Hi How can i find fonts with a low number of anchor? Trying to make a collection of fonts, thats best for the plotter, so it doesnt have to to do so much work. I know the attached image is the worst case and im not looking for decent fonts, but the best there is. Edit: By Anchor i mean these points thats the cutter has jump between: http://ptgmedia.pearsoncmg.com/images/art_wood6_pentool/elementLinks/wood6_fig02.jpg Anything helps, thanks :-)
DNA_Vinyl 262 Posted October 5, 2015 I find that any font that doesn't have small detail like this one. Most fonts aren't too bad.
Wildgoose 4,200 Posted October 5, 2015 I don't think node count will necessarily equate to more or less work for the cutter. Higher node counts are hard to manipulate if you are trying to get close to something custom and manually move the last little bit to make an exact match. I suppose more nodes would increase the file size slightly but I doubt it would be enough to cause issues. Just my $0.02

skarekrow 1,842 Posted October 5, 2015 My 2 cents; It's not so much that you should search out the fonts with a low node count... It's often generally better to avoid the ones with really high node counts, like DNA's example likely has. They gennerally have either really jagged edges and can work your plotter/blade pretty hard or they are loaded with details that are a nightmare to weed. The example you posted, marduk, is by no means, a 'high node count' font.
