How can I get an image that is in grayscale to vectorize in sign blazer. When I click on vectorize it say that it can't because the image is not monochrome

Easy to do --   With the image selected, choose MODE from the Image menu, and the first submenu will offer Monochrome as an option.

You can then adjust the density/intensity using the sliding scale which appears automatically (50% is the default).

From there, you're good to go.

Never knew power point could remove backgrounds so well. That's pretty cool. SB can vector stuff but I've never had any luck getting it to work. I'd suggest downloading Inkscape (free) and play around with it. There are lots of tutorials on vectoring images in Inkscape, look through some of those and you will be able to do the above process with Inkscape.
