What do you get for $30 -- VinylMaster Basic 'upgrade' for US CUTTER users

Recommended Posts

Allrighty then, here's the lowdown for what you'll get for $30. (or $40 if you count in the shipping of a card with an activation serial #)

To begin with, this is used for running a MH machine, and setup for the cutter was seamless and instantaneous.

My first cut was the NoSmoking graphic provided. I made it really small. It cut really small, flawlessly.

Because all the graphics provided are Street Signs, I'm now embarking upon a mission to make 30 "mini" (reduced scale) street signs, and pepper the local Main Street with them, as a joke.

[ I'll upload that escapade with a bunch of photos.... ]

The new MasterVinyl is fine, providing just the right amount of powerful tools, along with brain-dead-easy configurations to provide the best cuts with your unit, whatever make of USCUTTER it is.

Even expert won't pull unless you ride their a$$ and get them to remote your computer and redo the settings. And I quote "We disabled it because no one really wanted it" and yes I did call him an idiot.

They said "professionals" only used full rolls so there was no need. I told him he should spend some time in a shop before deciding what is "professional".

Use full rolls    =    PROFESSIONAL

Use scraps    =    ROOKIE FLY-BY-NIGHT

I only use full rolls but I still like the polling feature. I keep the pinch roller and media sensors on my graphtec enabled. The polling feature is nice because it gives me the exact size available. I sell my scraps.

Not only yes but hell yes! Scraps are pure profit buddy. No such things as scraps they are just little roll ends. I sell the heck out of them things and I use the polling feature on my Summa all the time. Some shut this off some don't but I like to know things are gonna fit before I start cutting. SignCut Pro will poll the plotter if your machine has the capability. My old P-Cut I had to manually measure the available and input it manually.

They fixed my polling width but never turned on my length. After my last discussion with them (been several months) nobody answers my emails anymore but like I've been sayin it would be an awesome program if their support didn't blow.

I don't really care about the disk.

If they say up front in the promotional material it's a download, and the activation code will be sent via eMail, THAT would make sense.

What I object to is USCUTTER customers being charged $9.99 shipping fee for a card.

At this point, I would like to see their promotional material and description changed to reflect reality.

  1. Get rid of the photos of a physical disk and retail packaging.
  2. Make a reference to the download and the need for an internet connection on the computer that's going to be cutting (the activation requires internet).
  3. Stop charging $9.99 for sending a card --  provide the activation # via eMail

Will this software let you cut designs saved in a SVG format?
