Cndrella854 0 Posted September 8, 2015 I tried using Oracal 651 on some clear vinyl rainjackets. The letters are coming off. Is there anything else I could use? This is for my daughter's high school cheer team. Thanks
darcshadow 1,625 Posted September 8, 2015 Does the rain jacket have a waxy coating? Does water bead up on it? If so, that's probably your main problem. You could possibly scuff up the area you are putting the lettering with a brillo pad. Don't know how well that would look though.
Dakotagrafx 7,297 Posted September 8, 2015 I just cant imagine it holding on anything that is flexible like that - it is decal vinyl for a hard substrate unlike htv for flexible stuff. with that said I am not sure which htv would work without melting pvc gear
Sue2 920 Posted September 8, 2015 Maybe it would stick to the inside better?? You would have to Mirror the cuts. Sue2
mb20music 760 Posted September 8, 2015 You would probably need to spray the back of the lettering with this before applying the lettering to the vinyl jacket...
darcshadow 1,625 Posted September 8, 2015 A cast vinyl might work better than calendared also.
pshawny 410 Posted September 9, 2015 Or make a stencil and paint the letters on.
Cndrella854 0 Posted September 10, 2015 Thank you so much. I am going to try the spray. If that doesn't work I will stencil. Thanks again for the suggestions.
