Scooby you have not been on the forum long enough to accurately determine the personalities on here so just try and relax a little and this will blow over.

To tell you the truth I think newbies are the ones who are always asking what to charge. When I started out I built a very sophisticated Excel program to try and dial in on where I should be. It has everything down to app tape and even substrates and mounting kits, posts and such included. At the end of the day after a few years experience I basically can quote off the cuff what I will charge for a given sign, banner or shirt. Once in a while I will get a little more involved job that requires a little math and frequently I don't give the price verbally just to allow myself time to write it out and be sure I didn't miss something but I already know where the market price is in my area and what it's worth to me. The cost of materials, while important, is much less critical than the labor for which the calculations tend to be off when left to a computer program. (This just one mans opinion)

I agree I pretty much know my own costs and am pretty good at my pricing. I'm all about making life easier if it saves someone time then I think it is worth it. I'm talking with my friend and we need to wrap up a couple more things on the calc and I'll post a link at that time. We may just leave it where it is now and if people like it and there's a demand for other features we can add them in a later time.

If you guys have the skill set to make a phone app I bet there would be a market from the newbie sector. Biggest thing is whether they know enough of their labor costs to accurately input the data (materials are relatively easy if they don't forget app tape and masking tape and other sundry supplies). I bet if you come up with something cool, unique and easy to use, and for not too much bling, that there would be some users. If it was free and cool/useful it would be a big hit. I don't think you should give up.

It's all based on your cost you put in per material. You can set up profiles for let say Oracle 651 24"x10 yards and another for 24"x50 yards. You can set your sale for by Sq inch price (save as a profile) then all you do is select the material your using and enter in Length and Width and it will do its thing. And yes have discussed a phone app.

It doesn't consider prep or labor time?
