HAKreck 0 Posted July 26, 2015 I have a friend who wants me to try an make some window stickers for his organization. The one he gave me looks to be a printable vinyl sticker. I don't know that much about the media needs of doing this and am looking for help. Any suggestions? Thanks
Sue2 920 Posted July 26, 2015 What equipment do you have? It would help if you could upload a photo of the sticker he wants. Sue2
HAKreck 0 Posted July 27, 2015 I have a Titan 3 15" desk top, he's going to sent me the victor art for the stickers, I'm just trying to figure out the best way to do the job for him.
Sue2 920 Posted July 27, 2015 If he wants full color stickers, you will have to be able to PRINT them in color first................ then cut them out. PLUS, if they are to be in a window facing out they have to be reasonably sun/fade proof Not an easy job to consider for an beginner. Sue2
HAKreck 0 Posted July 27, 2015 I'm not a total beginner to this, I had a screen printing and vinyl business that I sold off and couple of years ago, then decided to get back into the vinyl cutting recently. But I do need to look into different ideas with the vinyl. So thought I'd look into this. Thanks for the insight.
tooler82 182 Posted July 27, 2015 Yeah you won't be able to print printed stickers with your vinyl cutter. You'll need something like this: http://www.mimakiusa.com/products/solvent/cjv300-series-2/. We have the CJV30-130, which they don't make anymore.
HAKreck 0 Posted July 27, 2015 Tyler Thanks for the info, I knew I couldn't do the stickers on the vinyl cutter but wasn't sure what I needed to look into for the project. Do you know if they make a smaller printer for this kind of work?
tooler82 182 Posted July 27, 2015 There are smaller one's. Here's what USCutter offers. You're looking for a Printer Cutter System btw. http://www.uscutter.com/Digital-Printers

Wildgoose 4,200 Posted July 27, 2015 Unless you are prepared to make a substantial investment I would suggest outsourcing these to Dakota or someone who has a printer and a proven track record. Most of us WANT a printer and most if us soon realize we don't want it as bad as we thought once we see the sticker and learn about the continued maintenance and expenses. Basically demands consistent volume to work out in the black.
