satinet 0 Posted July 16, 2015 Hi How do you kern fonts in signblazer? The text dialog box doesn't have an option to do it. You can do it, freehand, from edit>edit text, but it's really a poor way of doing it (letter moves up and down). I've only used flexiletter from the early 90s in the past, so I'm not familiar with this software. Thanks Tom

Jay2703 704 Posted July 16, 2015 Select the text then select Node Edit. Two boxes appear at either end of the text. The one on the right adjusts kerning, the one on the left adjusts line spacing.
slice&dice 2,450 Posted July 17, 2015 Either Node Edit or Text Edit from the EDIT menu will produce those two boxes at either end. (what you are describing about the letters moving up and down happens when you touch those little boxes between the letters -- don't mess with those if you can avoid it, and just manipulate the bigger box at the right end of the text line. If you are interested in moving the kern between a set of letters --- and not kern out the whole line --- you can press the CONTROL key while moving the little box and it won't go off the established line. Also, right-clicking while pointing to an intermediate kern box between letters will allow a specific value to be entered.) Overall, the TEXT-handling properties of SignBlazer are not in the realm of Flexi for versatility, but certainly more than adequate for most jobs.
