PeteH 0 Posted July 3, 2015 Hi, VERY NEW to this. Great forum by the way, and lots of good information. I am looking at doing an indoor project for church consisting of around 130 characters of text in length. This will be a modern, mixed font kind of thing. The white vinyl will be applied to 4'x8' black coroplast sheets. Are these cutters able to do more than one line of text across the width? It would seem wasteful if they can't. Looking seriously at the LP2. Thanks for any help. Pete Columbus, OH

slice&dice 2,450 Posted July 3, 2015 Pete, welcome. Since you currently are still in the investigation phase, I'm going to strongly suggest that you download and install SIGNBLAZER Elements. Once you have it loaded, play a bit with the program. Doing what you want is a piece of cake. http://support.uscutter.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/GetAttachment/190/24198

While it's free and handy, it's practically obsolete. There's no support for it, save for here. The developer has long since passed away and there's no way to update this software. It's been running extremely choppy on Windows 8 and I wouldn't be surprised if Windows 10 kills it completely.
slice&dice 2,450 Posted July 28, 2015 SignBlazer works just fine on my legacy WindowsXP computer with a serial port hooked up to the cutter. It is what it is.
pshawny 410 Posted July 28, 2015 If I'm still in this same business in 10 or 20 years from now I'll most likely be using SignBlazer.
skarekrow 1,842 Posted July 28, 2015 Sounds like more of a reason to avoid Window$ updates to me.
jaybyrd 3,770 Posted July 28, 2015 works on 8.1 to the best of my knowledge. Legacy yes, useless? not even close although I no longer personally use it It has stood the test of time unlike some recent programs which disappeared after a year (SCALP3 comes to mind). Just bought a pc with 7 to avoid the mess and hopefully will be prepared to downgrade this pc. of 8.1 crap in the very near future. If I could afford to replace all my software I'd switch to mac.
