Primal Decals 621 Posted July 3, 2015 Im got a job doing some decals on canoes they will be just for casual floating in ,not the hard core rapids rock scratching type ,but i was questioning myself on what vinyl to use on the plastic that the shell its made of ? Oracal is the brand i use and wasnt sure if 751 is proper or should i use a much better quality like 951 ? Thanks for your input..
Jburns 239 Posted July 3, 2015 I would think 751 would be good...its made for most outdoor vehicle applications- and color should hold up under weather for 3-5 years.
Command 97 Posted July 3, 2015 I've seen 651 hold up on fresh water boats for a while, so 751 should be even more capable.
skarekrow 1,842 Posted July 4, 2015 I believe both the 651 and 751 have the same adhesive... to actually step up the bond, you might need the 951. Double check that. That is from info I read here on the forum, not from the manufacturer. Seems the 751 and 951 have very similar "seawaterabilty" stats. http://www.orafol.com/tl_files/content/downloads/technicaldatasheets/americas/en/oracal/oracal-951.pdf http://www.orafol.com/tl_files/content/downloads/technicaldatasheets/americas/en/oracal/oracal-751.pdf
