Which Cap Press to get?

Recommended Posts

Help!  I'm a firm believer "You get what you pay for"...so is the Hotronix Cap Heat Press the number #1 option?  I just purchased a fusion not too long ago, so would rather not spend $800 for a cap press right now...but is there any other brands/models that you'd recommend?

Thanks!

I've had a cheap chinese swing away for a few years and it gets the job done. The main problem I see is there are so many different contours to the front of the hat depending on style/ manufacturer that it's impossible to get a lower platen that'll work well with all of them.

I'm probably going to be selling my old Hot One (Stahl's) hat press in a few weeks. I bought an upgrade. It's old as the hills and has no timer and needs some work but has been in this condition since the day I bought it a couple years back. Ive done around a thousand hats with it so far and just never got around to having someone fix the main issue which is some sort of short or loose wire that causes it to stop heating until you bump the wiring in the back. I took it apart and tried to find the issue but it eludes me. I'm not much of an electrician though so it cold be simple could be a big deal. The biggest thing about the Stahl's is they open WAY up and get the platen out of the way and have a nice little spring that holds the hat in place after you get it where you want it. They also have interchangeable lower platens to fit different hats. This one will come with one platen because the upgrade is the same style and they work on all their machines clear up to present day. I haven't decided how much to sell it for but make me an offer and I'll consider it. My new one is a week or two out from delivery and I don't want to be without so it will have to happen in that time frame.
