Cut/Plot

Recommended Posts

I am a beginner to the first power! I just purchased Corel DRAW X6 64 bit, a Graphtec CE5000-60 Cutting Plotter, and using it with Cut Master 2. I have been watching video after video and still don't know how to get the cut/plot function working! What am I missing?

You're going to have to be more specific.  You don't know how to cut/plot from within CorelDraw X6?

Find the Application Launcher icon on your toolbar in CorelDraw, click the little down arrow and select Cut/Plot.

And, If you are using cutting master, you have to have the language set to GP-GL, or you're not going to get nuthin'.

Hi there,

I'm new to the forum as well being a complete novice to vinyl cutting. I have recently purchased a Graphtec CE5000-60 to use along side my Imac. i am just wondering which software you guys recommend? i have been trying to use the graphtec studio but i am having no luck in getting my plotter to cut anything! Any help would be much appreciated!

Apologies if i haven't posted this in the correct place.

Kind regards

Ryan

You may have better luck in the Mac Users forum - most of us are Windows users - http://forum.uscutter.com/index.php?/forum/33-mac-users-board/

OW, does your cut/plot window, and sending your design take along time to open CM3? Mine seems to take for ever to open and sometimes it does not show what I want to cut. And yes, I have tries to convert to curves and that stuff. I mainly cut from Flexi, because it opens instantly and cutting in seconds.

No, it only takes 7-8 seconds to pop open the first time after a reboot, but then it only takes 2-3 seconds each time after that.

they are never fast enough but if you throw enough money at them you can make them tolerable

You should be able to just export a file out of Draw and import it into CutMaster in what ever format it requires.  This would skip the need for the plug in altogether.  Eventually you want the plug in to work.  However, for testing, export and import should get you there.

I usually do that but when I'm doing a test of the design I don't want to go thru all that, if I don't have to. Thanks anyway.

Thanks, mine is slow as S**t, any suggestions?

My cutting computer is an Intel i3 laptop with 4GB - it's not a super-fast PC by any means.  Maybe you need to defrag your hard drive, or upgrade to a faster drive?
