Dakotagrafx 7,297 Posted April 30, 2015 I'd call that a strong business strategy especially since nobody knew the government was going to bail everyone out. personally I think if your business can't stand on it's own then it should be left to fail. Government taking that big a roll in business had a strong feeling of communism. Rant over carry on people. while I agree with you jay - in this case it saved thousands of american jobs - that would now be overseas, measures this drastic haven't been needed since the great depression and hopefully won't be again. what I don't get is why they are allowing the banks and wall street to eliminate the safety measures put in place after the crash of 07. the banks and finacial institutions are the only industry that has not been held criminally accountable for the shady practices - if we did the same thing we would be doing time, as I recall there might have been 1 person prosecuted in that and probably pardoned after that. but with that said i am biased between michigan and ohio we would have taken the biggest hit with the thousands of lost jobs
jaybyrd 3,770 Posted April 30, 2015 Can't see where they would of went overseas when nobody could afford to buy a car at the times anyways. I'll throw another wrench in the works and blame the unions for not wanting to negotiate when their workers were about to be jobless.

I'll throw another wrench in the works and blame the unions for not wanting to negotiate when their workers were about to be jobless. just saying afterwards the big three would be ford, honda and toyota - 2 out of 3 would be sending all the corporate profit overseas and workers over there would benefit much more than the ones that lost their jobs here

Dakotagrafx 7,297 Posted May 6, 2015 now I admit even being a Ram fan that the new fords have a nice design - but on the 1 ton, seriously who thought it was a good idea to put 60's style bolt on bubble fenders on a $60K + truck. serious design snafu with that one

dirtrocker 60 Posted June 2, 2015 Well, as someone who makes their living working on trucks and heavy equipment, I have to say that GM, Ford and Chrysler are all about even on the recalls. So it all boils down to personal preference. Each one has it's faults. And I'm kind of amazed that a person's first post was to trash Ford.

jaybyrd 3,770 Posted June 13, 2015 If 9 teams run chevy and 1 runs ford wouldn't it make sense more chevys win? Popularity doesn't mean faster just that chevy is cheaper to build and remember all these new motors are basically the same no matter what name is on the car.
