Gotta

Mechanic

Coming

I hesitate to post this one, but think Dodge, Ford and Chevy when you read it.

You can't ram it or stroke it unless you're like a rock.
(might take a few a little while to get this one)

My little brother builds rat rods and the Chevy - Ford argument between us has gone on for over 30 years.

I always tell him that I put paint on my hotrod Chevys, but his old Fords are so bad, the rust just shows right through on his.

(if you know rat rods, you understand the comment)

I know the old war got started long ago and in my minds eye I am still stuck back in the late 70's era engines but the newer models out these days are pretty incredible in all the vehicles. My wifes Chevy Burb has 208K on it and still kicking. I never got or expected to get that kind of mileage out of my old '76 4x4. Then you get into the rice burners, I recently bought a 1992 4Runner for one of my kids to drive to school and it has 326K on it and still runs great. How the heck do they do that? It's amazing.

I went though HS with a 1976 GMC short box 4x4 and my best friend had a 74' Ford long bed. We went the rounds in good fun but I was always proud at how much easier the Chevy was to work on. He tried swapping out motors and you'd think he was building a custom spacecraft with all the finagling we had to do to get it to work out. Chevy's are (were) just plug and play.

I've always been a Ford guy. I have owned Chevy's and Dodges too though. All manufacturers have their problems. Ford has their coil pack problems, dodge with their drive train problems, but to me chevy's interior are just too bland. Unless you get a fancy package a lot of them look like the same dash from the 90's haha. My Ford has woodgrain etc.

No government bailout

and the only reason is they had just hocked everything including their blue oval logo right before the bailouts started.

I'd call that a strong business strategy especially since nobody knew the government was going to bail everyone out. personally I think if your business can't stand on it's own then it should be left to fail. Government taking that big a roll in business had a strong feeling of communism. Rant over carry on people.
