Recommended Posts

NEWBIE QUESTION/HELP..........I have these claw marks that need to stay at a certain size to look uniform and not blown out of shape but need to be stretched as well .they need to match what the claws look like ,I hope im describing this correctly, Right now if i make them the height i need and stretch them it pulls everything with it and makes them way to long etc..I think i have to cut and paste and merge or join whatever its called to duplicate what i need but im not sure ,So hopefully someone can help me out here.Thank you so much in advance..

This first one is what im starting with but i need to stretch it out

Untitled 1

to fit this length below. but only have the scratch be stretched not the claws.. the length i need is roughly 58" and the height is roughly 4"tall to go down the green area straight back like in the top image..

Basically, what you are seeking is a process called "node editing" --- where the entire design is a VECTOR file instead of a RASTER file.

Once you enter the node editing mode in your graphics program (Illustrator, or Inkscape, or even SignBlazer) then you can move the nodes and achieve a redraw by repositioning whatever points you wish.

MOST programs allow you to select the image, hold down the SHIFT key (Windows), then grab a corner of the object and drag the mouse to resize.

There are more than a few on this forum who are thinking, "You should hire a Pro"... I'm one of them.

Firstly, as far as instructions go, myself or any other cannot tell you how to Draw.

Because drawing skills are essential to what you're trying to accomplish here.

Whether you tackle the needed edits in Vector or Raster, you still will need to draw the missing parts.

I completed the changes you described, and vectored the result.

Here is low res proof.

As you indicated in a previous thread, this is a paying job for you.

Pm me for instructions on how to make the same happen for me. :)

Thanks for the response but I don't know how to go about teaching another how to draw.

I guess just keep practicing.I've been working at it my whole life and still have plenty of

room for improvement.

As I mentioned, I have already created the vectors and can zip them up in several formats and

send them your way for (price withheld).

Hope I didn't come off as a jerk but I do graphics for a living, too.

Shall I Send you a Paypal invoice ?

Thanks again,

I appreciate it but on second thought I'm gonna just give you this one. The original image isn't mine

and I really didn't spend much time to create it. Often, as in this case, I do things just for

the challenge/ practice (provided I have the time). Thanks for the offer.... maybe next time.

That was a real stand-up thing to do, skarekrow.

You know, we are here for enjoyment on these Forums, and it's always nice to see this kind of thing.

By the way, nobody thought you were being a jerk by asking for payment, I'm sure.

Graphics is normally a time-consuming thing, and time is money.
