Heat Transfer Printer?

Recommended Posts

What printer can I use and get away with spending the least on to print heat transfers? Normal size and wide format. Hate being cheap on it but dont want to spend to much until I know its for sure something I want to keep doing. Thanks in advance.

just googled my printer and the epson refurb came up. They come with a warranty and if you pair that with either refillable cartridges or cis tank from someplace like cobraink you'll be good to go.

Another question If you don't mind.About how many prints can you get from the cartridges?

You can also get it from Epson's outlet store on ebay - and that also comes with free S&H.  http://www.ebay.com/itm/Epson-WorkForce-WF-7510-All-in-One-Printer-/221483417371?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item339170bf1b

I never used cartridges in mine, I put a CobraInk CISS kit in mine (I have the Epson WF-7520 - same basic printer with a second paper tray) and I can print roughly a gazillion pages before worrying about a refill.

I've got a 7510 on cartridges for sublimation and a 7520 with cis kit set up with pigment for shirt transfers. Both work equally well as long as I remember to fill the carts on the sub printer.

I have a 7610 and a 7620 both on the carts. I ran the original ink that came with them (epson durabrite is pigment based) and when they ran out I bought a set of carts from Cobra Ink. They come pre-filled and aren't much more than just buying regular factory replacements and then you can re-fill them from their bulk ink bottles which is WAY cheeper

Will the Carts from a 7610 fit a 7510? Cobra doesnt seem to have any for the 7510.

No.  The 7610 uses the newer Code 252XL cartridges.

The 7510 uses the Code 126 or Code 127 cartridges.  The Code 127 cartridges are the higher capacity version of the Code 126 cartridges.

And Cobra Ink does sell the Code 126 and Code 127 cartridges -  https://www.cobraink.com/cartridges/cartridges%204-6%20color%20pigment.htm - scroll down, on the left side of the page.  $68.99 for a full set of the Code 126 and $86.99 for the larger set.
