George2014 6 Posted January 9, 2015 I am a newbie, bought myself a cutting mat http://www.uscutter.com/Greenie-Cutting-Mat but it does not fit into my cutter. So if i have a small piece of vinyl i can not use it. Do i need a special mat? thanks
MZ SKEETER 4,708 Posted January 9, 2015 What you purchased was a cutting mat, so that you don't cut up your table etc, with an exacto knife or etc. Protects desks, table top and other work areas from knifes, blades, and other craft & art tools. You need a carrier sheet cutting mat that has an adhesive side to it, to hold your vinyl like this one for the Silhouette, and can be also purchased at Walmart. http://www.uscutter.com/Silhouette-CAMEO-cutting-mat-12-x12-12-x24

arty-rc 719 Posted January 9, 2015 Wally World has them also. If they don't have them in store, you can order them on line and get free shipping to your local store.
jcart 11 Posted January 10, 2015 When using one with your cutter, do you adjust the blade or lower the force to allow for the extra thickness? Thanks

TT57 135 Posted January 13, 2015 When using one with your cutter, do you adjust the blade or lower the force to allow for the extra thickness? Thanks i have used my cricut mat with my SC cutter. Yes, i had to adjust my blade to accomodate and dial back on the pressure. I had to play with it to get it right.
