Go-C Graphics 856 Posted November 22, 2014 I found a killer deal on craigslist that seemed too good to be true. The ad was for a Graphtec CE5000-120. I ended up driving 2 hours one way(150 miles) and when I got there he had 2 plotters for sell for the same price, a FC3100-120 and a CE5000-120. I hadn't done any research on the FC3100-120 and I ended up just picking the CE5000-120. I tried finding some specs for the FC but I didn't have any luck. Do you think I made the right choice? What do you think each one is worth? Now I have to figure out what I want to do with it. I already have a graphtec CE6000-60. Do I turn a profit and sell the CE5000-120? Do I sell the CE6000-60? Should I keep both and use the CE5000-120 as a backup/the super rare occasion I need to cut some wide vinyl. Let's hear some opinions.
SeeJaysPlace 476 Posted November 22, 2014 Keep it for a backup
Jburns 239 Posted November 22, 2014 I would keep it and the CE6000, especially if the price you have invested is low. Will be nice for a large job here and there. I would have passed also on the FC3100- old technology.

mr300s 1,272 Posted November 22, 2014 As far as keeping it as a backup I doubt you will still be around when your main one goes bad ... ;D
Dakotagrafx 7,297 Posted November 22, 2014 I can count the number of graphtec failures we have seen over the years on one hand if I cut off several fingers - keep to use or flip.

Go-C Graphics 856 Posted November 22, 2014 As far as keeping it as a backup I doubt you will still be around when your main one goes bad ... ;D That's kind of that I was thinking. I may just throw it up with a price on the high scale and see what happens. Ok, not to get off topic here but I feel like I'm looking in my garage..No really...Blue sport bile....Sand blast cabinet....Band saw...WTF! Scary I'll take another pic standing back alittle bit. I have more toys and tools. LOL

Wildgoose 4,200 Posted November 23, 2014 I have to ask Go. IS that red thing a fold-up utility trailer?

IS that red thing a fold-up utility trailer?

Sure is. I can't keep a trailer outside because of HOA rules. So I bought a 4'x8' folding trailer. It's awesome. I've trailered everything from 1/2 yard of rock to my bike. Since I have an SUV it comes in handy when I go to lowes or Home Depot.

Go-C Graphics 856 Posted November 23, 2014 man I would be in trouble with that hoa - 8x12 heavy snowmobile/utility trailer, enclosed trailer and 5th wheel - Yea it was the one thing I was really worried about when I was buying the house. But in the end it's not so bad.

jaybyrd 3,770 Posted November 23, 2014 I can't live where there are hoas. I think I'd go nuts trying to comply. As a side note most cities don't want me either.
