flez1966 0 Posted November 16, 2014 Hi, about 4 months ago i noticed some lines were not straight, but had a wobble, and that the cut depth didnt seem consitant, the 'wobbles' are about 2mm apart and every 2mm it was like the knife had lifted a little making a dotted line cut, as you can imagine, weeding was a nightmare, and i stopped cutting anything that was necessary and cut cut generic novelty stickers till i can sort this...Here is a picture. All the cuts should be straight cuts not wobbly cuts!help! Sal316 166 Posted November 16, 2014 Blade holder loose?
MZ SKEETER 4,708 Posted November 16, 2014 make sure the blade holder does not have any scraps of vinyl inside. Try a new blade and set it correctly using these instructions. Also apply a few drops of light oil in the blade holder. 3-1, sewing machine oil etc. Also make sure there are not any gouges in your cutting strip. To start with, you should set your blade depth correctly, by taking the blade holder out of the machine, and firmly cut across a piece of scrap vinyl, you will be cutting. You should only be cutting the vinyl and barely a mark on wax paper backing, Adjust blade to get there, Then put the blade holder back in machine, and use the force of the machine to get there, same results, only cutting the vinyl and barely a mark in wax paper backing. slice&dice 2,450 Posted November 16, 2014 Check the tension on your belt (the one that moves the carriage head). Remove the entire left-side end cap on your cutter (the one with the power plug) and there should be an adjustment screw which can increase the amount of pressure on the pulley wheel. Take it up a slight increment and see if that helps.
