lablover 218 Posted November 12, 2014 For those of you that use both 631 and 651 do you find the cutter settings to be the same for both? And do you need to adjust the blade depth at all? I just got some 631 to try out and I didn't do a thing to the blade or the settings and it seemed to weed ok. I think it might of snagged a few times. I have no issues re-adjusting the knife if need be. I'm also curious because I'm going to order a few more blade holders .. Thanks
MZ SKEETER 4,709 Posted November 13, 2014 First off, if doing vinyl that is very similar in thickness,, You don't need to change the blade depth, you change the force of your machine. Set your blade once correctly and leave it alone... from there on, use the force of the machine.. for vinyl thickness.variations. . unless you get into something very thick... I may go from Oracal 651 to some Avery chrome and I just up the force a few numbers. Back down for the Oracal 651 again. But I never change my blade depth. If your going to be doing a lot of thick vinyl. then get another blade holder, so that you can leave it set up.

pshawny 410 Posted November 13, 2014 Use the presets on the Graphtec for different speed and pressure settings. I love that feature very much. I have 631/HTV on #1, 651 on #2, chalkboard on #3, chrome on #4, phototex on #5, magnet on #6. 631/651/HTV share a blade holder and blade. The rest get there own blade holder and blade.

Funny how you forget things. I forgot all about the separate conditions my Graphtec has. WOW, major brain cramp! I need to get in thee and tweak them to my liking. I've been using one preset and just adjusting it on the fly.
pshawny 410 Posted November 13, 2014 Set it and forget it. You may have to bump up the pressure over time as the blade dulls. By that time you should be ordering a new Clean Cut blade anyways.
dkipp 14 Posted November 21, 2014 Keep in mind I'm a beginner, but I only change the pressure setting, never the blade depth between the two vinyls, seems to work fine..
