Cut vinyl under microscope!

Recommended Posts

Got a new toy and was in the process of weeding some decals and figured I would view what the vinyl looked like at 100x's magnification! This was done on a Copam 2500 with a clean cut blade. The decals look great once weeded, but at 100x not so great. I'd love to see what a Graphtec would like at 100x! Pretty cool none the less!

*Note* these decals were roughly 7"x2"!

Try cleaning any vinyl residue out of the blade holder and adding a drop of light 3 in 1 oil to the bearings in the blade holder.  See if that helps.

Very cool seeing the vinyl at 100x magnification

WOW     Looks really good.

Thanks  I bought one.    It'll be here Tues thanks to amazon prime.

I'm still think about a USB microscope.   I think it'd be awesome to view cutting blade tips on my big monitor.

If they don't cut the same vinyl (651/751/etc) at the same speed and pressure the results won't be comparable. Same goes for degree of blade and blade brand. A test like this should only have one variable, the actual machine.   I don't think there will be that much difference at the same magnification.
