DNA_Vinyl 262 Posted October 8, 2014 I imported this logo off their PDF. This thing is broken up into SOOOOO many layers its not even funny. There's got to be a better way to do this. I worked on it for 4 hours and it still not right. Any suggestions? I don't want to just ask for you guys to vector everything for me, I can normaly do it myself. I also need/like to learn all the ways of doing it.

darcshadow 1,625 Posted October 8, 2014 If it's like the devil was the are a lot of layers that are not actually seen so you can remove those. Just find the layers that make up what you see then weld and cut till you get what you want with a minimum of shapes/layers. Is that logo in the same PDF that was linked to in your other post? darcshadow 1,625 Posted October 8, 2014 Found the PDF with it. I was going to post what I did as I edited the file but it won't let me copy and paste to the browser for some reason. So here is a text file with the steps. steps.txt

DNA_Vinyl 262 Posted October 9, 2014 OKOKOKOK!! SO!! I started at 7:30 and I stuck to my guns and I made the devil. Took me almost 3 hours...well more since Ive been doing it for 3 days. It looks GREAT Im totally stoked. One thing, I need help with is his horns. I need them to be cut out of his head, right now it over laps. I cant get my program to do that. Any help? I'll email you the file.
darcshadow 1,625 Posted October 9, 2014 What program are you using? In Inkscape, select the horns and the head then hit Ctrl and the - key. Note, this will delete the horn. So if need to keep it, duplicate the horn first. Post a jpg or screen capture of what you have so far.
DNA_Vinyl 262 Posted October 9, 2014 My cutting software is LXi. But ya I use Inkscape too. I'll post up when I get home.
jessefisher4 35 Posted October 9, 2014 In LXI if you have items grouped or select more that 2 items at a time sometimes it wont punch items through. I am assuming this is what you are trying to do. Ungroup if you have items grouped. Then try selecting one horn and the head and use the effects exclude common. Then select the other horn and effects exclude common again. Hopefully this is what you were getting at in your previous post.
