miked 0 Posted September 7, 2014 It will cut out a row of letters then it will go at a 90 degree angle and start cutting the next set of letters. right over the set it just cut. I just purchased the cutter. I did a few text cuts and it worked fine, now its doing all kinds of funny stuff. One time it totally didn't cut out a letter 4 times in a row. Maybe i have done something wrong? Or maybe I didn't set something up properly? Its a litte frustrating to say the least. Hopefully that makes sense to someone?? signyouup 178 Posted September 7, 2014 Did this start all of the sudden? Do you have the machine grounded to the stand?
miked 0 Posted September 7, 2014 i installed the supplied ground wire(just now), turned the cutter off then back on and started to cut some letters. It worked fine but when it got the last set of letters it made a cut across the entire sheet and then started to cut perpendicular to the existing letters. Across the existing letters. I was using it yesterday and i didn't have this problem but now all the sudden it started doing this. The program is constantly freezing up as well. This is getting agravating. I dont know if this has anything to do with it but I'm trying to cut multiple stickers at the same time. I made one and then just merged it together and made duplicates. The sticker consists of a row of letters then a small block divider then another row of letters. Pretty basic, at least thats what i thought. I bought this thing to make my own signs and vinyl graphics for my business. Maybe I should have bought another one? Mike
MZ SKEETER 4,708 Posted September 7, 2014 The MH series cutters are VERY limited on memory, They are the lowest end of the value cutters.. A Keyspan Adapter can help with your problems by allowing the data to flow better. Tripplite Keyspan Adapter is the brand name... Different prices on the big auction site Or try cutting less images...
MZ SKEETER 4,708 Posted September 7, 2014 Static can also be a big problem, Vinyl creates a lot of static, You can try Static Guard in the air in the area, as well as wiping the vinyl with dryer sheets. Static is a bigger problem with the value cutters.

miked 0 Posted September 8, 2014 Im using the cutting software that came with the machine. Sure Cuts a Lot. I know its not an awesome program, but I think it works ok. I am going to try cutting less at a time a see what happens? (although probably won't be until later, i have to work) the keyspan allows me to use the supplied USB cord with the serial port? Thats better? Just curious, what other software will work with this machine? Mike
jaybyrd 3,770 Posted September 8, 2014 Try signblazer it is free and is reliable cutting software. Uscutter has a download I think it's in the support section.

Mike Here is the Keyspan Adapter You can do a search on here, and you can see where it has helped many, many people with a value cutter. http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Tripp-Lite-USA-19HS-Keyspan-High-Speed-USB-to-Serial-Adapter-/160804080791?pt=US_USB_Cables_Hubs_Adapters&hash=item2570ab8c97

slice&dice 2,450 Posted September 11, 2014 ... the keyspan allows me to use the supplied USB cord with the serial port? Thats better? ... Mike From my understanding of the KEYSPAN adapter, it actually works the other way around, with the adapter plugging into a USB port on the computer and then running a DB9 nullmodem serial cable from the adapter into the cutter. Mike the keyspan shows it is windows 8 supported . . . there is a difference in these adapters in the chipsets they use - make sure to get the real keyspan

JohnatUSCutter 49 Posted September 24, 2014 Did you register your Sure Cuts Alot software? If you didn't, the product will be in "demo mode" which means that it will put a large line across a graphic larger than a certain size. My guess is that this is your issue.
