I recently purchased a kit off of amazon. I have the sure cuts alot 3 pro software that came with it. I am trying to figure out how to cut out layered stickers. I figured out how to get one to cut, but what if i want to cut say 100 of them? Also is there a way to print or cut out a line up tab that helps me line up the placement? Thank you so much guys!

Yes there are they are called registration marks they help you line up your work for contour cutting! Google contour cutting or youtube it. What kind of cutter do you you have if you do no mind me asking! So i can help you do multiple prints, Each cutter has settings to do copies without having to make say 100 copies in sure cuts a lot.  Also if you could post some screen shots of what you are talking about and edit them in paint by circling in red or a noticeable color that will really help! :) I'm pretty new myself but what I do not know someone surely will! EVERYONE HERE IS AMAZING!

To do layers you make each color you want the add a circle or square of each layer and layer them on top of each color off to the side and then you group the same colors. then when you go to cut  window and select cut by color. under that select cut each color separate (separate job) here is a test file to show u what im talking about. also on the layer box to the right you will see each color separated you can click the eye to turn off that color.

After you get the design selected click object in the tool bar. Pick duplicate from the menu and select how many columns and rows you want and how much spacing is needed between them. I wouldn't cut 100 at a time, keep the batches smaller to start with. Less chance of wasting a ton of material if something isn't quite right.

We were all new to this at one time. Like djque mentioned it is just about as easy to make your own registration marks. Some cutting software will add them but I almost always do my own. One of the folks on the forum uses a + mark and I tired it and found it superior to circles, squares or diamonds. Slightly more complicated to remove if you are layering on install but easier to line up perfectly. I do just as he said and make make successive copies in each color stacked exactly on top of each other and let cut by color separate them out. I don't use SCALP anymore so I have little specific info on that program for you.

Wildgoose - So you just layer the + Mark right on top of each other? I have used squares where one fits in the other - nothing right on top of each other. I like the idea of the plus sign though because it seems like you get easy to see vertical and horizontal alignment.

Yep. The cut-by-color will pull each layer out with the rest of the design and they all line up sweet.

With Scalp I just add the registration marks to the design, making them a different color than what is in the graphic. Then I go to the cut by color and choose each layer/color plus the reg mark color.

I use the Cameo for small stuff and then illustrator with the CutStudio Plug-in for the bigger stuff on the roland. I have to admit I have not used it much yet. Is there a cut by color option with that cutstudio plug-in?

I do it just by grouping each color and deleting out what I don't need to cut for whatever color I am working on.

I don't know about CutStudio but your way should work fine by groups too. I have some designs that I saved each color layer as a separate file when I was trying to use Sure Can'ts a Lot Pro as my cutting program. Same concept. Place the + marks where you want then copy and paste them on top and change to color, repeat for each color layer if there are more than two.
