Capt'n Morgan 54 Posted August 10, 2014 What kind of pads will I need for my 15 X 18 heat press? Where can I purchase them from and what else will I probably need? Thanx
Wildgoose 4,200 Posted August 10, 2014 I bought most of mine from Stahls but I think USCutter is carrying them now. I have one "Perfect Press Pad" that is 5"x 6" that I use for crest prints above pocket tee's and beside the buttons or zippers on polo's and jackets. I would have bought the whole set they have but they are real expensive. I heard later AFTER I had made that purchase that you can just take a mouse pad and use that. I think I would glue two together to get the thickness a little more but would be worth trying out. Fore press pillows I have a 12"x 14" that works great for most shirts and a 5" x 15" that I use for long sleeves and down the legs of sweats etc... My press is only a 15" so I didn't go any bigger. I only use the pillows when there is a seam or color nearby or when I am trying to shield a design on the other side of the shirt, it's a whole extra process to stick it in there and get it out. Does also come in handy on some of the lighter weight shirts in women's cut that are hard to get laid out flat because the pillow will help hold the shirt where you want it.
jarrotto 78 Posted August 10, 2014 Silicon pad if your doing tiles or other uneven surfaces. Teflon cover sheet or parchment paper for HTV. Blowout paper if your doing sublimation - to catch waste ink so it does not get on your press. Heat resistant tape. Heat press pillows if you are doing hoodies or apparel with seams, buttons, zippers, etc. Purchase from: Coastal, Conde, Stahls, BestBlanks, etc...
