Who Wraps?

Recommended Posts

So who all on here does full car wraps?  I have been asked to do a wrap for a full size pickup truck and was wondering the best method of estimating material without having too much leftover OR (worst case scenario) not enough to finish the job. The customer wants it done in Avery SW900 Matte "Night Blue Metallic" with some matte black accents...so getting the material isn't a problem. Since it's a solid color should I just measure surface area of the quarter panels, hood, roof, tailgate, doors to get what I need? I won't be installing this for about a month or so but need to get a quote on material relatively soon.

My Colonel wants me to wrap a trailer and I've never done it before. Wish I could go to a school first.

Same here...been watching up on a Mactac youtube wrap instructional series since the school is not an immediate option for me at this time. I have done small scale wraps and played around with the material so not too worried about installation anyways. I know how to "mold" vinyl with heat plus these newer trucks are very smooth don't have too many complicated surfaces to work with. It's going on a prerunner Raptor with tube bumpers so really the trickiest part will be hood/grill and roofline since the bumpers will not be wrapped.

AWE............   but the bumpers are where all the fun is at!!!!!!

I'd measure but 25yds should work since you're not doing the bumpers.

Fellers is the only place where you can order how much you want.   Places like Grimco only sell it in 10yds, 25yds, and 50yds lengths

Awesome thanks!  Next question...will Fellers sell to individuals like myself or do they only sell to their certified installers?

You need a business license but not a certified installer. I haven't ordered from them in a while but if I remember they are in the upstate area.

Fellers has a place I'm Charlotte. It is just a warehouse. No store front but you can order online and pick up there or have them ship.

I have 4 big sheets 3m camo vinyl that I have been playing with. Bought them for a few orders and had enough left to mess around with wrapping small stuff I have laying around

Well did the wrap this weekend. He chose Avery Night Blue Metallic (matte) for the wrap along with matte black and gray graphics to represent his company on the rear. Ran into a few minor complications but all in all was a success for being my first entire wrap. He was extremely happy with the outcome and granted it took 18 hrs  I look forward to doing some more.
