Countryside Graphics 0 Posted April 3, 2008 when I cut small images with small letters in it it is pulling the letters out. I have slowed cutter down to 30 and set pressure to 70 what else could I do to take care of this?
Jay2703 704 Posted April 3, 2008 A blade with a steeper angle. I never remember if it is 30 degree or 60 degree. I guess it all depends on how you measure it. I will also clean and spray my blade with WD-40 before cutting.
Countryside Graphics 0 Posted April 3, 2008 Ok I cut my pressure down to 70 also and it did a little better
cadman 0 Posted April 8, 2008 See if you can get your hands on a HP vinyl with a synthetic backing (clear plastic type film) the vinyl hold better to it than paper backed and its easier on the knife as you will really have to have a user error (way to much pressure) to cut thru it, also easier on the plotters cutting strip. Most of the big suppliers have at least some their standard colours on synthetic backing
kenimes 42 Posted April 8, 2008 I was testing a unit yesterday and found that a faster speed pulled up the material less than the slower speeds.
xhydro 0 Posted April 9, 2008 What would be a good speed, pressure, blade for 1/4" font? I either pulling out the letters with the cutter or they don't cut clean. Tom
BlackMesa 0 Posted April 9, 2008 I'm running 20 for the small stuff. Works fine.

Tom There is no set setting to use, it depends on the material you are cutting. It may just take a little trial and error before you get it just right. Try many different speeds and force settings, and I would even suggest retracting the blade as well.
Knobhill 0 Posted April 24, 2008 Definately use a 60 degree blade for small cuts. I found this helps a lot.
Popeye 0 Posted April 24, 2008 I've found that blade adjustment is critical... if to much blade is exposed it will strip the letters as you described. If it's adjusted correctly the blade should only be out the thickness of the vinyl... and that's not much Follow this and you should see an improvement. http://forum.uscutter.com/index.php/topic,3362.0.html
