dansell 12 Posted July 26, 2014 I am need of someone who is on Etsy that I can refer customers to that are looking for Printed Vinyl Car Decals. I don't have the capabilities to do those type of decals and I wish, when I have to turn customers away, that I can send them to someone reputable on Etsy. Thanks! bradsc1954 7 Posted July 26, 2014 Why turn them away. Why not have some else do the printing and mark them up?
dansell 12 Posted July 26, 2014 I actually think that that scenario is not "Etsy legal"
Dakotagrafx 7,297 Posted July 26, 2014 one offs on a wide format printer usually doesn't make financial sense - it will have to be someone real hungry as there isn't a lot of margin anyways - it isn't like a one off of a cut decal - lot more waste

Sue2 920 Posted July 26, 2014 Like everyone else has said, dealing with quantities of 1-2-3 decals is not cost efficient....even on a smaller 24" machine or the handy 20" Roland (...supplies cost more). Customers do not generally understand what all is involved besides the initial cost of the machines & supplies. (thousands of $$$) design time ("but I sent you my file in WORD") print charges ("it's only 10" & doesn't take much ink I printed it out at home") laminate charges ("why does it need to be laminated?") cut charges ("I can cut it out myself") packing & shipping charges. ("other sellers don't charge for shipping.") credit card fees ("our CC doesn't charge fees.) Did I miss any? oh, profit.....sorry we're trying to avoid being a non-profit business. When you sit down and add it all up, those two decals generally cost the vendor $20-30 in overhead, time & supplies. And, yes, you have to consider the initial cost of your equipment and it's eventual replacement cost. Right now, if I have customers wanting small sizes/quantities of decals I bunch the jobs together and explain that it may be a few weeks turn-around. It's not a perfect solution but it works for the most part. If they don't want to wait...they pay the freight. Sue2
jaybyrd 3,770 Posted July 26, 2014 I order small runs all the time. My guess is they fo so much they just gang it together with somebody elses order
dansell 12 Posted July 26, 2014 Thanks everyone for the responses. This is why I don't want to do them myself, I'm happy doing my wall decals and such. I was just hoping to send them to someone who could help them. Thanks!
