britlin 0 Posted April 23, 2014 I have a new 24" USCutter SC model and from time to time - especially on big projects - the blade drags and cuts a line where it's not supposed to. Any suggestions on how to stop this from happening?
tooler82 182 Posted April 23, 2014 Mine did that at one time, but I think I had the blade adjusted too low so when it was walking around, it was scratching it.
FrznFire07 217 Posted April 23, 2014 Mine used to do this all the time when I would cancel a job before completion, even though the job was no longer in production manager the plotter buffer still had some data so it would cut a random line. to correct this just clear you data/buffer. it should be in your plotter menu. pshawny 410 Posted April 23, 2014 How far is the blade sticking out of the holder? It should just barely be peeking out.
britlin 0 Posted April 23, 2014 Thanks for all the suggestions. I adjusted the blade a bit and I'm going to try to cut this again. It's a 24x40 design and I hate wasting vinyl so hopefully this will help!
tooler82 182 Posted April 23, 2014 I get a small test piece and drag the blade holder across it holding it. You should barely feel it grabbing. I draw a circle and try to get it out, if it's not enough, I adjust it or vise versa.
MZ SKEETER 4,708 Posted April 23, 2014 correct way to adjust your blade. to start with, you should set your blade depth correctly, by taking the blade holder out of the machine, and firmly cut across a piece of scrap vinyl, you will be cutting. You should only be cutting the vinyl and barely a mark on wax paper backing, Adjust blade to get there, Then put the blade holder back in machine, and use the force of the machine to get there, same results, only cutting the vinyl and barely a mark in wax paper backing.
