You should be able to. There is quite a bit to learn, but it's pretty fun too. I use pigment inks and roll my varnish on, but with dye inks you may have to spray it on with a hlvp spray gun. Do some youtube searches and you'll see how the process works.

This is the canvas that I use, http://www.breathingcolor.com/action/bc_shop/141/

They also have some nice photo papers.

I use a local dealer here and gives me a very good price 4-8$/sq. ft depending on which canvas and I must say when I print 66x60 the price is just right and compared to your other online vendors I get it at 1/3 price.  All I can suggest is check with local vendor and make a relationship worth keeping and use them if possible.

I think there is some money to be made in this so i wouldn't mind learning!

Yes, that starter kit would work. With the 17" canvas you could make 12"x12", 12"x20", etc. You loose about 4" to the wrapping process. Later on if you decide to order more, with the 24" canvas you can make 16"x20", 20"x30", etc.

This forum has lots of good printing info, http://www.luminous-landscape.com/forum/

Here are a few other random things that I order for canvas making.

If it's been sitting unused for 3 years then you might have some clogging issues. I'd do a test print and some cleaning cycles to see how bad it is before ordering anything or moving it. They are definitely a pain in the butt to move. I'd hate to try to move a 44" printer. The 24" was bad enough.

I actually bought my 7900 from a guy just outside of Minneapolis. I'm still not sure how the two of us moved that thing without dropping it.

I've only had my printer for 6 months, so I'm still learning myself. You can PM me with questions & I'll try to help.

If the printer has had 'dye' inks in it, it'll be a lot easier to get going, than if it has pigments. A couple ten cleanings, and a power clean or two should do it. I had a 7000 with dyes, it had sat for five years when I bought it. The 9600 I've got now, had sat for almost a year. And I moved it by myself.
