chipperi 45 Posted January 26, 2014 I read the SCALP faq and am still a little confused...The code I have is good for two machines on the same platform. Now If I install it on my laptop and my desktop, and lets say I go to a flea market and some dufus knocks my laptop to the ground causing terminal damage, is it a 1 shot code and need a new (expensive) code? Or do I just go buy another laptop and re-install it and all is right with the world?
bikemike 711 Posted January 26, 2014 Step 1. Punch dufus in the head. Step 2. Escort him to the local laptop store for a new laptop. Step 3. put your image backup on the new laptop. Step 4. if that don't work give them a call. Shouldn't be a problem. Best guess.
TheKid 29 Posted January 26, 2014 With a internet connection you can deactivate the code on your laptop and be able to install it on another machine. On your new machine you would enter the software codes on the CD sleeve as you did on your first install. This probably curbs piracy.
chipperi 45 Posted January 26, 2014 Don't you have to deactivate it from the computer it is installed on? If the Laptop is Kaput how would I do that?
Dakotagrafx 7,297 Posted January 26, 2014 I believe it allows you to install on a second computer before you would have to contact crafts edge to get it straightened out
jaybyrd 3,770 Posted January 27, 2014 I crashed a hard drive earlier this year and contacted Craft Edge and they reset the codes no problem at all. Actually had to do the same thing with find my font a few weeks ago when that pc puked it's guts. Finally broke down and bought a new computer and hoping for no breakdowns for a while.
