1st time needing help with a font.

mark-s is correct, as usual...it's Rock Salt.  The "L" in both words is uppercase.  The rest of the letters are lowercase.  You can download for free commercial use

here.

Cutting advice -- When using this type of font (with overlapping/merging letters) don't forget to use the Welding function.

OK.   

 

I downloaded the font BCOJ posted and it's a really jagged edge font.   

If you zoom in it looks like a 2yo drew the lines.  

 

Is this just the way the font is?

If I download it from somewhere else will it be the same?

The image of the font you posted shows edges of each letter that are jagged.

 

There's a shadow around those letters, which might assist in smoothing the way it appears.

You could try adding an outline, see if that helps.

Good idea...if you have Photoshop, add an outer glow to it of the same color.  Then, if you have Illustrator, try using image trace on it with the outer glow already applied.
